Fatal accident near Garberville kills driver and sends the passenger to hospital

GARBERVILLE, CA. (KIEM) – We have new information on a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred in Garberville over the weekend.

According to California Highway Patrol. 58-year old Roy Werner is dead after he lost control of his motorcycle and ran it off of the road ejecting the himself and his passenger.

The one-vehicle crash occurred on State Route 254. The passenger 64-year-old Karen McCune was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital after sustaining moderate injuries.

Werner was pronounced dead at the scene, and officials say alcohol is believed to be a factor in the collision.
