Man arrested after shots fired in Cutten

Humboldt County, Ca., (KIEM) A heated argument leaves one man in jail after he allegedly shot at another man.

Sheriff’s deputies showed up to a residence on 6100 block of Walnut Drive in Cutten after reports of shots fired, Thursday.

Once at the home officials found a 26-year-old male claiming to be the victim.

The alleged victim told deputies that he and 21-year-old Donald Anthony Garcia Jr got into an argument before things escalated. The victim says Garcia took out a gun and fired one shot but missed.

Deputies later entered the residence and found Garcia hiding in a bedroom. Deputies also located a gun and 1 gram of methamphetamine.

Garcia was arrested and booked on numerous charge including assault with a firearm on a person.

Garcia’s bail is set at $35,000.
