Month-long enforcement effort to discourage distracted driving

How many of us text or use our phones while driving? Well according to California Highway Patrol, in 2018, the CHP issued more than one hundred thousand citations for violations of the hands-free cell phone laws.

April is distracted driving awareness month, and on april 4th through the 19th the CHP will conduct a statewide enforcement effort to discourage distracted driving. Distracted driving laws have been on the books since 2008, and under the 2017 hands-free cell phone law, drivers are not allowed to hold a electronic wireless communications device while driving a motor vehicle.

Multiple public safety agencies will be working together, throughout the month, to educate drivers on the importance of hands-free driving. As well as cracking down on drivers breaking the law. If you have broken the law or had someone hit you because of their own distracted driving, then the best route to go down is contacting an attorney who specializes in car accidents. The rules of your state/country determine how to go about this, if you were in the midwest then you would look up a springfield il auto accident lawyer to take your case, it is very important you report what happened, whether you be the one who caused an accident or an accident happened to you.
