Fortuna Planning Commission Holding County Zoning Workshop

FORTUNA, Ca. (KIEM) – Fortuna’s Planning Commission will be holding a meeting to discuss the County’s re-zoning efforts around the city.

Back in 2017, Humboldt County adopted a general plan.

The point of the possible changes is to bring zoning into conformance with the County’s updated land use. The proposed changes could possibly affect areas outside of Fortuna. But is still within the city’s jurisdiction. The Deputy Director of Community Development Liz Shorey says, it’s important for the public to weigh in on any potential changes.

The workshop starts at 6 pm, on Tuesday next week at the Fortuna City Council Chamber.
