Eureka man leads law officials on high-speed chase

Mendocino County, Ca., (KIEM) A Eureka man leads officers on a high-speed chase through several towns.

Authorities say 32-year-old Robert Joseph Paul didn’t yield when a deputy tried to pull him over in Ukiah.

They say during the chase he; was reaching speeds over 95 mph passing several cars and crossing the double yellow lines into oncoming traffic several times.

Officials tell us at some point the man came to a stop in the town of Philo – got out of his vehicle and surrendered.

Investigators say the vehicle was stolen out of Humboldt County in which they later found meth and a billy club inside.

Police say Paul was in violation of his parole. Paul is in the Mendocino County jail being held without bail.
