European Based Company Nordic Aquafarms Gives Presentation about Future Fish Farm Plans

ARCATA, Ca. (KIEM) – At Humboldt State University, a European based aqua-culture company laid out their big plans for the North Coast.

Nordic Aquafarms plans to develop a fish farm right along the Samoa Peninsula. It would be located near the former mill site.

The project is an estimated 400 million dollars.

Nordic Aquafarms says, the fish farm will help create dozens of more jobs. They also say, this project is a significant economic development.

Back in February, the company signed a lease agreement with the Humboldt Bay Harbor District.

Nordic Aquafarms says, they hope to complete the permitting process by the end of next year. Once the permitting process is complete, that’s when they can begin construction.
