Great Redwood Trail budget approved by legislative committees

Senator Mike McGuire’s plan for a trail along California’s rugged North Coast is coming to fruition.

The Great Redwood Trail which would connect Arcata to an area just north of San Fransico is estimated to be 300 miles in length. Recently both the Senate and Assembly Budget Subcommittees on Resource and Transportation has approved the governor’s request for 3 million dollars to carry out the next steps, outlined by Senate bill 1029. This will pay for initial assessments and research for the easements of at least 19,000 properties.
