Humboldt County Supervisors to make final recommendations for Measure Z funding

EUREKA (KIEM)- The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors are expected to make final recommendations Tuesday on who will receive funding from the Measure Z Citizens Advisory Committee.

Measure Z is the half percent sales tax that provides funding for local agencies. Cities along with public safety including fire, police and the DA’s office have all applied for funding.

Supervisors will also consider sending a letter supporting State Senator Ben Allen’s bill, SB 212.  It would give cities, counties and school districts the ability to adopt two majority winner voting methods. They include a two-round runoff and ranked choice voting.

Tuesday’s meeting begins at 9 in the morning at the County Courthouse.
