Police seek more information on butane lab explosion

RIO DELL, CA. (KIEM) – On Monday, Rio Dell authorities served a search warrant at a house in the 300 block of First Avenue in Rio Dell. They claim the property had been a site of multiple explosions. Inside multiple tools and materials designed for making butane honey oil were found. Butane honey oil is a form of concentrated marijuana. During the investigation, officers located 30 cases of butane canisters, more than 200 empty butane canisters, and seized over 100 pounds of marijuana.

The hazardous materials have been removed from the site.
It is not yet known if anyone was injured by the blast. Police say a person of interest has been identified, but the investigation is still ongoing.
