Rio Dell PD in search of illegal dumpers

RIO DELL, CA. (KIEM) – The City of Rio Dell is asking the public for help in locating those responsible for dumping hazardous material into public recycling bins.

According to city officials, the incident possibly occurred Monday. Authorities also believe a previous incident occurred around April 2nd. The material dumped has been identified as Super S 303 tractor hydraulic fluid. Officials believe those responsible most likely worked over the weekend with equipment older than 1974.

An Official with the city has responded saying “If the illegal dumping continues, the city will need to permanently close the public recycling bins.”
