Inmates collect trash along highway in Del Norte County

Del Norte County, CA. (KIEM) – On Wednesday, Pelican Bay State Prison Inmates conducted a litter abatement operation.

Walking side by side with pickers, along a portion of the 101 freeway, the inmates worked to collect all the trash along the median. The off-site program was reintroduced in December after a near 20-year absence. Cal Trans staff also assisted by maintaining the rights of way.
