Mendocino County, Ca., (KIEM) A Willits High School Principal is in hot water after being a mandated child abuse reporter who, allegedly, failed to make mandated reports as required by law.

45-year-old Michael Charles Colvig of Willits pled guilty to two misdemeanor counts of the allegations mentioned.

Currently, the Willits High principal is undergoing a program called “deferred entry of plea” meaning Colvig’s guilty plea may be withdrawn and the charges dismissed. If, according to reports, Colvig complies with all of the terms of his 36 months of probation.

Reports show that the high school principal has to comply with several terms, including donating a total of $2,400, for the next three years to the Willits Center for the Arts for scholarships for and other assistance.

A criminal jury trial is set for Monday, April 29.
