Senator Mike McGuire and Local Community Leaders Hosts Humboldt Trail Summit and Town Hall for the Great Redwood Trail Project

ARCATA (KIEM) – Momentum is gaining for the Great Redwood Trail project.

Senator Mike McGuire and community members came to discuss the Great Redwood Trail.

Several parts of the trail will be breaking ground this year, and $32 million dollars for the project have already been secured.

Throughout the year, parts of the trail will be built in Arcata, Eureka, Willits, and Marin. The trail plans to stretch from Humboldt County all the way down to San Francisco.

Senator McGuire says, this is a huge economic driver for the North Coast.

Another town hall meeting about the Great Redwood Trail will be in June in Mendocino.
