Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Presents Board of Supervisors Data Regarding ICE Interactions

EUREKA (KIEM) – The Humboldt County Sheriff’s office gave their report to the Board of Supervisors about their interactions with ICE.

It’s required a public hearing.

The Sheriff’s Office submitted information about how many ICE holds they’ve received, how many people they’ve turned over to ICE, and the amount of times they’ve spoken with the agency.

The Sheriff’s Office says, this is a way for them to remain transparent with the community.

Deputies says, they do not conduct any law enforcement activity based on someone’s immigration status.
