Four Men in Custody After Police Believe Marijuana Deal Goes Bad, Leading Authorities in a High Speed Pursuit

ARCATA (KIEM) – Four men are in custody after what police believe was a marijuana deal gone bad.

It happened around two this afternoon, on Alliance Road and Hilficker Drive. Officials say one or more of the suspects were shooting from their car.

A sheriff’s officer noticed the suspected vehicle, involved in the incident. Deputies then attempted to stop the car.

That’s when the driver took off, leading police on a chase on Northbound 101.

The car then exited off the westhaven ramp, crashing into a ditch. John Cordova, a resident of the area says, he and his wife had just returned home from vacation when police blocked off the area.

Three suspects were not injured, but one sustained minor injuries.

APD is investigating the case.
