Three people injured in Highway 199 crash

DEL NORTE COUNTY, CA (KIEM) – Three people are rushed to the hospital after a car overturns in Eastern Del Norte County.

The crash happened just before midnight Sunday on U-S 199, south of the Collier Tunnel. California Highway Patrol officers located an overturned Mitsubishi Eclipse that ran into a dirt embankment and overturned.

The driver, 20-year-old Talisa Farrell of Cave Junction, Oregon sustained major injuries. She was also arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Farrell’s three passengers sustained minor to major injuries. The crash remains under investigation by the CHP.
