EUREKA, CA (KIEM) – A Eureka man is behind bars for allegedly stealing $1 Million worth of jewelry from a Trinidad home-owner over the weekend.

The victim told police that three or four unknown suspects stole the jewelry. That’s according to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. The suspects and a vehicle were captured on security video on the 1000 block of Stagecoach Road.

Officers located the vehicle Tuesday at a residence on the 200 block of Redmond Road in Eureka. During a search of the home, deputies found items from the burglary in Trinidad along with five grams of heroin.

40-year-old Steven Russell Buskirk was arrested and booked into jail on multiple charges, including burglary. Police are still on the search for the other suspects believed to be involved in the Million Dollar heist. The case is still under investigation.
