McKinleyville, Ca., (KIEM) Finally, a new destination is on the list of new things coming to the Humboldt County Airport in McKinleyville.
The destination? Denver Colorado.
This will be the third destination in addition to the L.A. flight the airport acquired last year.
The first arrival will land Thursday evening on June 6th.
The McKinleyville Airport will have a daily service 7 days a week with a flight as early as 6:30 AM.
The great thing about that morning departure said Gregg Foster with the Redwood Region Economic Development Commission is that it’ll get travelers into Denver an hour before a whole bank of connections going East and into the Midwest. Foster said it’s all about convenience from a connection and traveling standpoint.
“We actually pursued a number of airlines with different hubs and United was the one that stepped forward and said they would do Denver,” said Foster. “That of course, added to the L.A. flight that we added last year. The L.A. flight has been very successful and so, as a result, today they added a second departure…so we’re going to have two to L.A, and one to Denver and then the rest will be going to San Francisco.”
