Del Norte schools go on lockdown after student brings BB gun to campus

CRESCENT CITY, CA (KIEM)-Castle Rock and Del Norte High School in Crescent City were both placed on lockdown after a report of a student with a gun.

The Del Norte County Sheriff’s office and other law enforcement responded to Castle Rock School just before 1 Thursday afternoon.

According to the Del Norte County Unified School District, police located a student in possession of a BB gun. That student was taken into custody.

The sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate the incident.
