Man located by fire fighters after fleeing from crash

LOLETA, CA (KIEM)-A man is found by firefighters after he crashes his truck and then flees the scene.

Just after 1:30 Friday afternoon, the 40 year-old driver was traveling on Loleta Drive and was attempting to merge onto northbound Highway 101.  The truck went off the roadway and down an embankment striking a tree.

The man then fled on foot into some brush but was located by members of the Loleta Volunteer Fire Department. He was transported to the hospital treatment.

The California Highway patrol said alcohol made have played a factor in the crash.
