New Bus For North Coast Veterans Traveling To Bay Area

Veterans here in Eureka now have a new bus to make getting to doctor’s appointments in the bay area a little easier.

Six years and many complaints later, the Veterans Association finally has a new bus. It will take daily trips to and from the VA hospital in San Francisco to get veterans the care they need. They can leave in the morning and get back to their own bed that same night, something that was not always possible in the past. Eugene Caster and John Mitchell are two veterans who worked closely with the Veterans and Family Council and Congressman Jared Huffman to make this a reality.

Veterans are encouraged to take advantage of the bus and can call ahead to make sure they make their appointments no matter the time. Copies of the bus schedule are available at the Eureka VA clinic.
