Future of the Potter Valley Project

HUMBOLDT COUNTY (KIEM) – A resolution came before the Board of Supervisors regarding the Potter Valley Project.

The plan is to look for regional planning effort that benefits Humboldt, Mendocino, and Sonoma County.  The Potter Valley Project sits on top of both the Eel River and the Russian River.

The dam belongs to PG&E. Earlier this year, the utility company declared bankruptcy.  Now, the project heavily impacts the salmon population.

The next steps, is creating a two-basin solution.
