Humboldt County Board of Supervisors Planning to Send Letter State Officials Regarding Hemp

EUREKA (KIEM) – The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors approved a letter that will be sent to state officials, regarding hemp.

The letter will addresses Governor Newsom, Senator McGuire, Assembly member Wood, and CDFA Secretary Karen Ross, asking for a clear definition of hemp. Industrial hemp is defined as having no more than three-tenths of one percent of THC. But the problem is that hemp does not address CBD.

Agricultural Commissioner Jeff Dolf says, he hopes this letter will bring clarity.

So far, there is only one FDA approved CBD product which helps treat epilepsy.
