Crescent City Workshop to Rebuild Front Street

Crescent City (KIEM)- Residents got to voice their opinions about Front Street’s renovation proposal.

It has been a long road for the city regarding the proposal process. The city developed the design back in 2012, and are hopeful this might finally be their year.

The plan is proposed to cost roughly 17-million dollars and they have the 100-percent 4-million dollars needed for the year. The city plans to redo the storm drains and the streets. The foundation needs to be completely replaced. The 5-lane Front Street will be narrowed down to 2-lanes and the rest of the area will be for parking along the coast.

They hoped to start construction this summer, but believe it will actually start next Spring. The grant must be submitted by July 15th and will then find out in October if they are approved.
