Humboldt County Hosts 41st Tour Of The Unknown Coast Bicycle Race

Humboldt County, Ca. (KIEM) — People from all over the country came out today for the 41st annual Tour of the Unknown Coast bicycle race. The event took place at the Humboldt County fairgrounds in Ferndale.

The annual event features of a variety of rides for all skill levels. Bicyclists were able to ride through the scenic redwoods, along the ocean, and in the backcountry of the North Coast. The Tour of the Unknown Coast and Avenue of the Giants rides are both one hundred miles. If that is too long, there are also 100 kilometer, 50 mile, and 22 mile routes to take. They also offer an eight mile family-friendly ride. At the finish line there is food, drinks, and live music to enjoy. The event director says that no matter your skill level, it’s all about enjoying the scenery and having a good time.
