Free Smoke Alarms With Humboldt Bay Fire “Sound The Alarm” Program

Humboldt County, Ca. (KIEM) — Humboldt Bay Fire introduces the “Sound The Alarm” program. They are partnering with the American Red Cross Northern California Coastal Region to offer free smoke detectors to those in need.

On top of free smoke detectors provided by the Red Cross, the first 30 homes to sign up with the program will receive free installation of the alarms on June 29th. According to Humboldt Bay Fire, 7 people in the U.S. die from home fires each year. They also say that having a smoke alarm can cut the chance of personal injury in half. Smoke alarms can save lives and the department wants to ensure that everyone in the community stays safe.

To sign up for the program, you can check out their Facebook page or Instagram @HumboldtBayFire, or you give their headquarters a call at (707) 441-4000.
