Mayor of Eureka Welcomes New St. Joseph Hospital Family Residency Program Class

EUREKA (KIEM) – St. Joseph Hospital is getting its first ever class of family medicine residents and the new class got a warm welcome from the Mayor of Eureka.

This is the first time St. Joseph Hospital is having a family residency program. The class is made up of six people.

The residents are going through a three week orientation process, getting familiar with both the hospital and the open door community health centers.

Chief Medical Officer William Parks says, six new continuity clinics can now be open with each resident seeing up to 250 patients in their panel

The residency program will launch next month on July 1st. The residency itself lasts about three years.
