Eureka Police arrest man on warrant, possession of meth

EUREKA, Ca (KIEM)-Eureka Police say they arrested a warrant suspect who was in possession of drugs.

On Wednesday afternoon, detectives from the POP unit were conducting proactive surveillance. They noticed 61 year-old Matthew Vogt, who was wanted on a warrant, enter a motel on the 4200 block of Broadway.

As Vogt was leaving the motel, he was taken into custody for the felony warrant without incident. During a search of Vogt, police say they found meth that was packaged for sales.

He was booked on suspicion of violations of possession of meth for sales, probation violation and his warrant for revocation of post release community supervision.
