Arcata City Staff to ask Council To Consider Million Dollar Loan for Potential Housing Project Funding

Arcata, Ca., (KIEM) Could more affordable housing be coming to Arcata?

The Arcata City Staff is asking the city council to consider a 1.8 million dollar loan to the Isakson’s Affordable Housing Project.

The project would add 44 housing units — in a mixed-use — multi-story building.

The project also includes about 2.3 million in off-site alternative transportation improvements throughout the city.

The city staff says the project would provide both affordable housing and substantial improvements and additions to Arcata’s alternative transportation infrastructure.

The staff plans to schedule a hearing on June 27th for the council to consider the funding of the project.
