Senator McGuire to host meeting on the Great Redwood Trail

Ukiah, Ca., (KIEM) Some good news for hikers, cyclists and nature lovers on the North Coast.

There will be a town hall meeting next Saturday in Ukiah discussing the long-term vision of the great redwood trail, hosted by Senator Mike McGuire.

The plan is for the trail to become a world-class destination for visitors and tourists.

The trail will replace a decaying railroad that stretches from San Francisco Bay to Humboldt Bay. The trail is said to also help boost the economy for communities along the North Coast.

The community meeting will take place at the Ukiah Valley Conference Center on June 22nd at 10:30 AM until about noon.

A list of town hall presenters will be released next week.
