Highway 101 in Mendocino County closed for 2 hours after truck crashes into embankment

MENDOCINO COUNTY (KIEM)-Highway 101 in Mendocino County is closed for two hours following a solo semi-truck collision.

According to the CHP, just after 4:30 Tuesday morning, 36 year-old Lavell Billingsly of Oakland, was driving a Volvo semi-truck northbound between Willits and Laytonville.

For unknown reasons, the truck veered to the right and struck an embankment. As a result, the trailer slid across the roadway blocking all lanes.

Billingsly was not injured and officials say it appears dui was not a factor in the crash.
