EUREKA (KIEM)– Summertime is here and that means the carnival is in town.
The Best of Humboldt Fair kicks off Thursday and gate admission will be free all day. Admission for the weekend will be 15-dollars for adults and 5-dollars for seniors. New this year is free admittance for youth 15 and younger.
It is a busy sight at the Redwood Acres Fair Grounds. Final preparations are underway, getting everything in line for Thursday.
It will run from Thursday until Sunday. Carnival hours will be from noon to midnight everyday except Sunday where it will close at 5 p.m.
Residents are excited that the fair brings in revenue for the city, but some feel that the event should stick around a little longer. One local says that a more permanent venue would allow the city to attract more tourist, which means more money for the city.
