HSU interim Athletic Director Robins to leave position at end of month

ARCATA, Ca (KIEM)-Duncan Robins, who has been Humboldt State’s Interim Athletic Director for the last two years, will conclude his service in the position at the end of June.

Robins led Intercollegiate Athletics through a difficult period that included budget reductions with the elimination of the football program. He has been instrumental in efforts to enhance support for intramural and club sports, as well as the Marching Lumberjacks, by incorporating them into the Athletics program. He has also maintained a clear focus on academic and other support for student-athletes.

“Duncan has always focused on doing what is best for the students and for HSU, and I am extremely grateful for his efforts,” said HSU President Lisa Rossbacher. “He stepped into the interim position at a challenging time, and I appreciate the experience, resourcefulness, and student-focus he brought to the role.”

A search process to fill the Athletics Director position on a permanent basis recently concluded, without the position being filled. An announcemnet of the next interim athletic director is expected soon.
