Man Arrested After Late Night Stabbing In McKinleyville

McKinleyville, Ca. (KIEM) — A man is arrested after stabbing a man and killing a dog. The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on the 23-hundred block of Grace Avenue with reports of a physical altercation involving a man armed with a knife.

Deputies located 38-year-old Jonathon Boone outside of the residence. He became combative and was taken into custody after a deputy deployed his taser.

An 85-year-old man sustained non-life threatening injuries to his neck and shoulder and was transported to the hospital.

The sheriff’s office said Boone and the victim had a confrontation earlier in the evening which resulted in Boone physically assaulting a 39-year-old female victim. He then reportedly stabbed and killed a dog.

Boone was booked on suspicion of attempted murder, elder abuse, robbery, animal cruelty, brandishing a weapon, criminal threats, battery, resisting arrest and violation of post release community supervision.
