Country Media acquires the Triplicate Newspaper

CRESCENT CITY, Ca (KIEM)– The future of the Del Norte Triplicate is uncertain after the longtime newspaper was purchased by a new company.

Country Media acquired two newspapers owned by Western Communications, Inc. including the Triplicate in Crescent City and the Curry Coastal Pilot in Brookings, Oregon.

Three Triplicate employees were laid off, including Editor Robin Fornoff, and the future of the remaining staff is uncertain.

The Triplicate has been serving Del Norte County since 1897
