“Sound the Alarm” Program a Success

HUMBOLDT COUNTY (KIEM)– Over the weekend the Humboldt Bay Fire and the American Red Cross came together to host the “Sound the Alarm” program.

The program was a success, as HBF and American Red Cross installed free smoke detectors for those in need.

They installed 61 new alarms in over 24 homes. They also tested and replaced batteries in existing alarms, and educated residents on fire and earthquake safety.

HBF reminds you that smoke alarms save lives and they want everyone in the community to be safe.

Contact the local American Red Cross, (707) 832-5480, to learn more about the Home Fire Campaign and Sound the Alarm opportunities.
