Humboldt Bay Fire and EPD Advising Residents to Stay Safe When Lightening UP Fireworks

EUREKA (KIEM) – Fourth of the July is right around the corner, both police and firefighters are reminding everyone to be safe when setting off fireworks in the area.

Over the last few days, EPD received about 16 noise complaints due to fireworks.

The noise from the fireworks affects pets, people with PTSD, neighboring animals. It’s around this time that both police and fire officials get an influx of calls.

Humboldt Bay fire says, if you plan to light fireworks during the Independence Day celebration make sure they are Safe and Sane approved.
