New Leadership Announced For HSU Athletics

Arcata, Ca. (KIEM) –  Still without a permanent athletic director, Humboldt State University named Jill Willson and Double L Consulting as new leadership for HSU athletics.

Willson and the consulting firm will be responsible for searching for the new athletic director. They will also help with a comprehensive review of operations.

Willson has experience in collegiate athletics with a focus on community engagement and game environment initiatives. She will be on campus starting in mid-August.

The newly appointed interim chief of staff in the president’s office, Sherie Cornish Gordon, will be helping out in the department until Willson and Double L Consulting’s arrival. HSU president Tom Jackson will be the one handling day to day decisions.

Moving forward, the University hopes to have a permanent athletic director selected by the first of the year.
