CHP Maximum Enforcement Period Statistics

HUMBOLDT COUNTY (KIEM)– Fourth of July weekend has officially wrapped up and California Highway Patrol has released the statistics from their Maximum Enforcement Period.

The period lasted from Wednesday, July 3rd at 6 p.m., through Sunday, July 7th at midnight. Humboldt CHP made five DUI arrests and investigated eight crashes.

Statewide CHP investigated twenty fatal crashes comparing to eleven in 2018. Twenty-one people were killed in twenty collisions comparing to eleven in 2018. One-thousand-two-hundred and four were arrested for DUI compared to three-hundred and eighty-nine in 2018.
