Take a Bite Out of Blight Clean-Up

DEL NORTE (KIEM)– Monday morning the 45th “Take a Bite Out of Blight” community cleanup collected over three-thousand and seven-hundred pounds of trash.

Del Norte County Code Enforcement, Building Maintenance, and District 1 Supervisor, Roger Gitlin, conducted the clean-up on the county parcel next to Wal-Mart off of Washington Boulevard.

Trash collected included blankets, clothing, and assorted trash. All of it was removed by approximately 25 volunteers.

Cal-Trans supplied volunteers with pickers and other tools to help aid in pick up. Building and maintenance cut back trees and brush that will be wood-chipped into the soil.
