Moore pleads not guilty for homicide of Eureka teenager

EUREKA, Ca (KIEM)– A Eureka woman accused of killing a teenager made her first court appearance. At her arraignment Tuesday afternoon at the Humboldt County Courthouse, Daniella Moore entered a plea of not guilty.

Moore is charged with 1st degree homicide and torture of 19-year-old Eureka resident Hannah Hayhurst. The judge ruled no bail for Moore.

Last week, Eureka police located Hayhurst’s body early Thursday morning at the end of Hilfiker Lane.

Moore’s former roommate Angelena Dockter said she first met the 40 year-old when she was working at Myrtle Avenue Market and lived with Moore for about five months.

Her former roommate also said Moore was not a bad person but when under the influence of drugs, her attitude would change.

A preliminary hearing is set for August 23, with an intervention hearing on August 14.
