CHP Investigating Fatal Crash in Del Norte County

CRESCENT CITY (KIEM)– The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that left one teenager dead.

Just after 9 pm Tuesday, 18 year-old Dylan Cervantes of Crescent City, was driving northbound on Lower Lake Road, just north of Mud Hen Village Road.

The CHP said Cervantes failed to see an unoccupied John Deer Tractor partially blocking Lower Lake Road. He crashed his vehicle into the bucket of the tractor and died at the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
