Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Addresses Military Helicopters Flying Over the Area

HUMBOLDT COUNTY (KIEM) – Military style helicopters that were flying over Humboldt County had residents worried. But the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office took to social media to address those concerns.

On a video posted to Facebook, Sheriff Honsal says the National Guard is here on the Sheriff’s request and they’re here to assist in the illegal cannabis grows.

Honsal says, this was approved by the Governor’s Office and the Cal National Guard.

The National Guard is under his direction and they are working together to bring the illegal cannabis industry into compliance with state law.

The Sheriff wants to assure the public that National Guard is not here working independently.
