American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life Kicks off Tomorrow

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM) — tomorrow, the annual relay for life event kicks off. It is organized by the Humboldt County chapter of the American Cancer Society.

Relay for Life raises funds for programs and services in our local community for both those currently fighting cancer, survivors, and their loved ones.

These services include rides to and from cancer treatment, wigs for patients who have lost their hair, and access to a 24-hour phone service line. On top of that, a portion of the money raised goes towards cancer research across the country.

Redwood news had the chance to sit down with one of the organizers, Megan Sorensen. She hopes that people of all walks of life can come together for the fight against cancer.

The event officially starts tomorrow evening at 7 pm at Albee Stadium at Eureka High School.
