Lights for Liberty Vigil planned in Fortuna

FORTUNA, Ca (KIEM)– A vigil planned for Fortuna Friday night hopes to bring awareness to ending human concentration camps.

The vigil will be hosted by several different organizations at Rohner Park. They’re calling it the Lights for Liberty Vigil in Fortuna. Lights for Liberty is a national movement to bring light to the conditions of detained immigrants. Activists will talk about immigration policies in the United States. One of them is from Mexico.

“It’s so extreme what is going on here in the United States, like nationally. We have in the government in the highest position a person that is calling for hating each other is calling for division. And for me that’s not something I can take,” said Brenda Perez a Co-Organizer for Lights for Liberty in Fortuna.

The vigil starts at 7 p.m. on Friday in Rohner Park. For more information, go to Lightsforliberty.org.
