California Department of Education Release New Data

HUMBOLDT COUNTY (KIEM)– The California Department of Education has released new data on college going rates.

In Humboldt County, over 52-percent of students attend college within one year of graduating and an average of 4-percent more attend within 16-months.

About 70-percent of the graduates going to college choose to attend a California Community College within 12-months of graduation and 22-percent choose to go to a University of California or California State University.

In Humboldt County, 5-percent more females went to college than males, compared to 9-percent at the state level.

The new report was developed based on high school completion data submitted by local educational agencies and independently reporting charters to the California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System.
