Man and Woman Steals one Woman’s Purse in McKinleyville

MCKINLEYVILLE, Ca (KIEM)– A man and woman are arrested after the Sheriff’s Office said they stole a victim’s purse. Around 2:30 p.m. Monday deputies responded to an armed robbery on the 2300 block of Grace Avenue in McKinleyville. 

A 39-year-old woman reportedly arranged a ride with two people, 36-year-old Travis Mann, and 34-year-old Sherry Bennett. The victim told deputies that Mann stopped at the intersection of Babbler Road and Grace Avenue, forcing her out of the vehicle at gunpoint, and then stole her purse. 

Law Enforcement later found the vehicle that was reported stolen out of Washington near the Windsong Village. Mann and Bennett were then located on the 2100 block of Tina Court.

During search, deputies located a stolen firearm, keys associated with the stolen vehicle, and the victim’s stolen property. Mann was arrested and booked for robbery, felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of stolen property. Bennett was arrested for robbery and stolen property.
