Eureka, Ca. (KIEM) — The Eureka Police Department may be one step closer to finding the person responsible for a certain graffiti tag popping up around town. The graffiti first started popping up last month.

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a possible suspect responsible for the “stayn” graffiti seen around the city. They shared a surveillance video to their Facebook page of a man they believe to be responsible. The video was sent by a business in Old Town. EPD hopes it can help move their investigation forward.

Since releasing the video, they have received a few leads, which officers are following up on. At this time, no arrests have been made. They are also still trying to figure out the meaning behind the graffiti.

They received some backlash when releasing the video, with some people saying there are more important things they should be focusing on. EPD wants to assure the community that they are doing everything in their power to solve this graffiti problem.

Anyone with information regarding the individual’s identity is urged to contact the Eureka Police Department.
