Humboldt Bay Fire Trains for Vehicle Extrication

EUREKA (KIEM) – Several Humboldt Bay Fire engines were parked at John’s Used Cars and Wreckers, practicing how to extricate and rescue a victim trapped in a mangled car.

They used tools such as the Jaws of Life, practice how to approach wrecked vehicle, and how to helped trapped patients.

According to fire officials, it takes about a team of ten to twelve people to help with a full auto extraction.

Humboldt Bay Fire says, having these training sessions helps them stay up to date with changing and evolving cars and technology.
