Humboldt County Deputies Spend Lunch Break with Kids in Free Lunch Program

EUREKA (KIEM) – Humboldt County deputies spent their lunch break with kids across Eureka.

The kids had the chance to get up close and personal with local deputies. They got to ask them question and share a meal.

It’s all part of the Free Lunch Program, the program feeds about twenty meals a day and serves hundreds of kids.

The Free Lunch Program is open Monday to Friday, at Washington Elementary, Zoe Barnum High School, and Alice Birney Elementary. The program is open to anyone 18 and under.

Next week, Cal Fire will be having lunch with kids at Alice Birney.
